CONVOCATORIA PARA COMPAÑÍAS DE DANZA VENEZOLANAS Y EXTRANJERAS.
Reciban un cordial saludo en nombre de la Dirección de Cultura de la Universidad del Zulia (LUZ) – Departamento de Danza, específicamente de Danzaluz, compañía de Danza de LUZ con 43 años de labores ininterrumpidas en Venezuela.
Danzaluz es el organizador Oficial del XVII FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE DANZA - MARACAIBO 2013, encuentro artístico y educativo que cuenta con 28 años de trayectoria (2012) en el ámbito escénico venezolano y mundial. La sede principal del evento es la ciudad de Maracaibo, ubicada en el occidente de Venezuela, con extensión de sus actividades artísticas y educativas a nivel nacional.
La edición del 2013 está siendo planificada para su ejecute en fechas del 21 al 30 de Noviembre las cuales están sujetas a cambio según lo amerite el Comité Organizador.
Ya está abierto el Proceso de Aplicación Artística (Desde Septiembre 2012 hasta Marzo 2013) para compañías de danza y artistas independientes, venezolanos o extranjeros a nivel profesional en todas las tendencias a nivel mundial.
Bases generales de aplicación:
1.- La compañía o artista independiente deberá enviar: Currículo (Compañía, Director, bailarines, etc.), fotos en papel o digitales de alta resolución (JPG), video completo del espectáculo (obligatorio 2 copias en Sistema Americano NTSC preferiblemente) el cual puede ser de participación grupal o solista y prensa. La propuesta escénica es de temática libre adaptable a escenarios múltiples especificando las necesidades técnicas generales de iluminación (adjuntar plano), sonido, escenografía (adjuntar plano), entre otros (todos los materiales deben ser enviados en español o inglés). En el caso de no enviar el video completo del espectáculo, la aplicación será automáticamente excluida. La compañía deberá asistir al evento con los bailarines presentados en el video enviado para la aplicación y en el caso de ser necesario su cambio, los sustitutos deberán estar en la capacidad de ejecutar la obra con la exactitud interpretativa y características técnicas mostradas en el video (de lo contrario si se constata en los ensayos en Venezuela la desmejora de la puesta en escena, el Festival estará en la potestad de suspender el espectáculo. Si el elenco original es sustituido por completo deberá ser enviado el video nuevamente (sin excepción).
2.- La duración del espectáculo por jornada será de un mínimo de 45 minutos para intervenciones de una sola compañía y de 15 a 30 minutos para espectáculo compartido. Cada compañía o artista independiente puede aplicar con la cantidad de obras o propuestas que desee.
3.- El Comité Organizador tendrá la potestad de definir el tipo de público al cual puede estar dirigido el espectáculo según las leyes venezolanas.
4.- Los miembros de la compañía podrán enviar, en el caso de ser de su interés, una propuesta educativa (Ad Honoren / Gratuita) para la Sección Pedagógica del evento. Las actividades serán completamente gratuitas para los estudiantes. Deberán especificar: Sinopsis, duración (en días y horas), nombre del taller, clase magistral,… y a quien va dirigido.
5.- Los materiales de las compañías que apliquen pasarán a formar parte de la videoteca de Danzaluz, así como de sus archivos en general (no serán devueltos).
6.- Las compañías seleccionadas serán informadas acerca de la decisión del Comité de Selección Artística a través de una Carta Oficial de Invitación, sellada y firmada por el Comité Organizador a nombre de la compañía. Las compañías no seleccionadas serán informadas igualmente, omitiéndose la razón por respeto a la libertad creativa de cada artista y/o compañía.
7.- La compañía dispondrá de espacios publicitarios en medios impresos a escala nacional, para promocionar los patrocinantes que gentilmente apoyen la consecución de los recursos necesarios para su traslado aéreo internacional, y demás gastos de logística no cubiertos por el evento.
8.- Las compañías seleccionadas deberán enviar una carta compromiso (sellada y firmada) confirmando su participación y que poseen los derechos de autor en el caso de que la autoría sea de terceros (puede ser escaneada y enviada por email).
9.- El Festival contará con subsedes en otras ciudades de Venezuela, así como en poblados cercanos a Maracaibo, razón por la cual requerimos saber si está interesado en actuar en ellas.
10.- El Comité Organizador se reserva la potestad de llevar a cabo invitaciones especiales y de promocionar su participación fuera o dentro de las fechas de aplicación.
11.- Los espectáculos serán con entrada gratuita razón por la cual las compañías no recibirán ningún tipo de honorario (sin excepción) por sus presentaciones.
12.- No se permitirá la asistencia de menores de edad ni de turistas, razón por la cual cada integrante postulado deberá especificar su función en la aplicación. Deberán ser incluidos en la aplicación los pasaportes escaneados de cada integrante de la compañía (sección donde se constate nombre, edad, fotografía, dirección).
13.- Cada compañía deberá contar con un mínimo de 01 personal técnico que domine la totalidad de la puesta en escena en el caso de espectáculos multimedia, entre otros de gran complejidad técnica. Solamente podrá viajar solo, aquel artista cuya puesta en escena sea sencilla, lo que será definido por el Comité Organizador.
14.- Cada compañía deberá cubrir el traslado desde y hacia su lugar de origen, contemplando personas, exceso de equipaje, carga, entre otros. El destino final de llegada y salida de Venezuela será el Aeropuerto Internacional La Chinita de la ciudad de Maracaibo (otro destino final será informado según sea el caso o el itinerario). El arribo deberá ser un día antes a la ejecución de su primer espectáculo y el retiro al día siguiente de su último espectáculo. La compañía deberá cubrir todos los impuestos y tasas aeroportuarias fuera y dentro de Venezuela, así como la tasa de salida de Venezuela.
15.- Las Embajadas o Misiones Diplomáticas extranjeras acreditadas en Venezuela serán informadas de la participación de las compañías, especificándose el nombre y número de pasaporte de cada persona, así como los datos de contacto de la compañía.
16.- La Compañía será responsable de tramitar las Visas de entrada a Venezuela de sus integrantes en el caso de que sea necesario.
17.- El Comité Organizador proveerá de los espacios escénicos (teatros, auditorios, plazas,…) y de todos aquellos equipos de iluminación, sonido, elementos escenográficos o de utilería (básicos y de fácil ubicación) acordados con anterioridad. No podrá utilizarse fuego, agua, o cualquier elemento que pueda poner en peligro la integridad física del espacio escénico; la utilización de los mismos “en el caso de ser mínima o indispensable” estará evaluada y permisada según sean comprobados los márgenes de seguridad. Todo daño ocasionado a los espacios escénicos por negligencia deberá correr por cuenta del causante.
18.- El Comité Organizador proveerá de: Alojamiento (Hotel tres estrellas en habitaciones sencillas, dobles o triples según el caso; Posada u otro tipo de alojamiento previamente informado a la compañía según la zona donde se lleve a cabo la programación). Ninguna compañía dispondrá de habitación individual para cada integrante. Alimentación (desayuno, almuerzo y cena tipo bufet). En el caso de ser necesario deberán informar con anterioridad si existen dietas específicas para alguno de los integrantes. Transporte interno (aeropuerto – hotel – aeropuerto) de las personas y carga (recomendamos que sea liviana). Los traslados a zonas foráneas a la ciudad de Maracaibo (Sede del evento) serán por vía terrestre o marítima según el caso. Intérprete (Inglés o Francés básicamente). En el caso de otro idioma estará ajustado a la disponibilidad o existencia de los mismos en las sedes.
19.- El Festival no contempla ningún tipo de seguros por robo, muerte, enfermedades, accidentes, entre otros sucesos, razón por la cual se recomienda la obtención de un seguro médico internacional por parte de la compañía para cada integrante. Solamente serán brindadas las atenciones médicas que puedan ser cubiertas de forma gratuita por el sistema de salud pública de Venezuela.
20.- Otros aspectos serán tratados en futuras comunicaciones según lo contemple necesario el Comité Organizador en absoluta y respetable atención de las compañías y artistas independientes que apliquen.

Application for foreign and Venezuelan Dance Companies.
Receive a cordial greeting in the name of the Culture Direction of Zulia’s University – Dance Department more specifically in the name of the professional Dance Company DANZALUZ Dance of Zulia’s University with 43 years of social and communitarian labor in Venezuela, created in 1969.
Danzaluz is the official organizer of The XVII International Dance Festival – Maracaibo 2013, artistic and educational encounter with 28 years of experience in Venezuela. The principal see of the festival is Maracaibo city, which is located in the west part of Venezuela, with an extension of the activities around the country.
The XVII International Dance Festival – Maracaibo 2013 will be held from November 21ST to the 30th (these dates could change by the Organizing Committee).
The application of the Festival is open from September 2012 until March 2013 for all dance companies and independent artists, Venezuelan and foreign, with professional level in different dance tendencies around the world. At the same time the application is open for those professors who are able to give workshops, master classes, conferences, seminars among others during the pedagogical participation of the event.
The Organization requires as soon as possible the promotional material of your Company in order to complete the requirements of the application for your possible participation in The XVII FID - Maracaibo 2013.
Application General Bases
1.- The company or the independent artist will have to send: Curriculum Vitae of the Dance Company, Director and Dancers, photos with high resolution (JPG), video of the whole piece you are proposing (2 copies) in American System NTSC, press material. The scenic proposal you have should be suitable to multiple stages, you will have to specify the technical requirements of light design (attached plan), sound among others. (The whole information should be sent in Spanish or English). If you do not send the video with the whole piece, your application will be excluded. Your spectacle should be performed with the same cast that appear in the video, but if It is necessary to replace them, you will have to guarantee that the piece is going to have the same quality of the video you sent previously (if during the rehearsals the organization notice some spoiled in the final work, The Festival will be able to disapprove or suspend the performance even if you are in Venezuela), And if it exist the decision to change the whole cast you will have to send the video again (without exception).
2.- The duration of the performance will be 45 minutes at least if it is only one company in the evening and if it is a shared program with another company 15 or 30 minutes. Each company or independent artist can apply with as many propositions they want.
3.- The Organizing Committee will have the authority to decide to which audience the performance will be shown, according to Venezuelan laws.
4.- The company members can propose an educational activity (without payment) for the Pedagogical Section of the event. The students will receive those master classes, workshops or conferences for free. If you are interested to give them you will have to send a detailed description, duration (days and hours), topic, target population and so on.
5.- The video and press material you are sending for the application will be part of Danzaluz library and also the files you send (we are not going to return it back).
6.- The Organizing Committee will inform after the selection of The Dance Companies with an official letter of invitation to participate in the Festival. By the other hand those companies who are not selected will be informed as well, and The Organizing Committee is not going to give the reason of the exclusion in order to respect the creativity of the artist and the company.
7.- The selected Companies will have a space for advertisement in the local and national press to promote their sponsors who may collaborate with the international flying tickets and other expenses during your participation in the Festival.
8.- The selected Companies will have to send a commitment letter (stamped and signed) confirming the acceptation or agreement to participate in the Festival. If the piece belongs to someone else you will have to send us the permission to perform it (this can be send scanned by mail).
9.- The Festival is going to have some branches in other cities of Venezuela for that reason our Organization needs to know if the selected companies are interested to participate in those cities.
10.- The Organizing Committee of the Festival will have the authority to have special guests or Companies and can promote their participation during or after the application period.
11.- The entrances to the performances are for free for that reason the companies are not going to receive professional fee. The Festival is entirely without profit.
12.- You will have to send the list of the people that is going to represent the company. (Scanned passports, function of the applicant, name, age, 1 photo and the address).The Festival will not aloud children or tourists.
13.- If the performance is multimedia or has any other complexity it is mandatory for the companies or the independent artist to have at least one technician in charge of the whole performance.
14.- Each company is in charge of the transportation from his place of origin and all the way around, including flying tickets, luggage excess, cargo and so on. The final destination of arrival and departure in Venezuela is La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo city (if the destination is different this will be informed in the itinerary). The Company should arrive a day after their first performance and should leave the country the next day of their last performance. The Company will have to pay all the national and international taxes in and out Venezuela.
15.- The Organizing Committee of the Festival is going to inform The Foreign Embassy or The Diplomatic Missions about the participation of the representing Dance Company, including the passports information of each participant and the references of the Dance Companies.
16.- The Company is going to be responsible to get the Visa to enter into Venezuela if it is necessary.
17.- The Organizing Committee will dispose the spaces (theaters, auditoriums, and open areas), light equipment, sound console and props (basics) but they have to be arranged before your arrival. It is not allowed to use fire, water or any other element of risk against the scenic space, and if it is obligatory to use them the Organizing Committee will have to approve it usage. If any damaged occur by negligence the company will have to be responsible about it.
18.- The Organizing Committee will be in charge of: Accommodation in (a three stars hotel minimum with single, double or triple room according to the quantity of people in the company). None of the companies will have a single room for each person. Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet) If there exist any special diet you will have to inform before. Local Transportation in Maracaibo for the company and cargo (airport – hotel – airport), the cargo has to be light. The transportation to the branches of the festival could be by land or by sea. Translator (English mainly). If the company requires the translation in any other language it is going to depend on the availability or the existence in the cities.
19.- The Festival does not cover: insurance for death, robbery, illness or any disease, accident. For that reason we recommend the Company to get an international medical insurance for the staff. We just can bring assistance for those necessities without any payment, and those who are covered by the social public health in Venezuela.
20.- Some other aspects will be informed in other communications according to the necessities of The Organizing Committee giving the best assistance to all the applicant independent artists and Dance Companies.
